Tips For Making The Most Of Valentine’s Day

February 2, 2018

Baby, I’m BAAACK! You may or may not have noticed but I have not been active on social media or on this sassy space of mine in a month and a half. WOW I feel like I need to facetime each and everyone of you to see how you’re because it has been too long. Not to go into too much detail, but I have been battling sickness and extreme exhausting which has literately left me no creative energy what so ever which is just sad in it’s self. You all are so awesome and being able to communicate with each of you on here and social media is so special to me so here I am running on maybe 10% battery but super excited to be back!

Two week, yes less than two weeks until Valentine’s Day. To be honest I think I build this day up in my mind more than I should which typically means disappointment. That is not a negative reflections on my hubs, because he totally tries and blows it out of the park with thoughtfulness. I just mean like the day it’s self and expecting to be all dolled up for him even if we do a date night in and having loads of energy even after a hectic day at work. HA! That’s not reality and I need to have a serious “get over yourself” talk with myself. This year I am making EVERY effort to make the day special for both of us and set zero expectations so it will be perfect however it all comes together. Here are the tips I have truly found essential for Kyle and I to have a special day of love together.

  • Don’t set expectations! Go into Valentine’s just knowing it will be wonderful because you will see, talk, or spend time with the person or people you love.
  • You have children? Try to do something special for them (you DON’T have to break the bank). I have great memories of being made feel special at home by my parents that I never was sad if I didn’t get attention from a boy at school. I knew I was loved and special.
  • Personally, I wouldn’t advise to celebrating the day early. Whenever we have done that in the past it leaves me feeling empty and like I need to do something, anything for him on the actual day. Like I said, even if you pop popcorn and enjoy a movie together on the couch with some Hershey kisses you can make THE day special!
  • I can’t say, “don’t go to a nice dinner”. When we have had actual time to not rush, dress up, and go enjoy a nice meal it has always been a memorable experience. Buuuut this isn’t a necessity. We don’t have any plans to do this routine this year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be totally culinary gods in the kitchen (haha, only kidding). This is a super fun way to do something together all while trying a new recipe and having a special meal together on the day of love.
  • Single?! Galentine’s Day is seriously so much fun. Grab your gal pals and go get sushi, drink the whole bottle of champagne and laugh until you cry. It will seriously make you love the day of love. If you and your gals prefer to stay in, order the best pizza in town, tell every gal to bring their favorite vino and have a wine tasting while watching bridesmaids. Now that’s a fun night right there!

All in all, make the most out of your day of love. You don’t have a significant other, kiddos, or anything else. You can simply make the day a day to love yourself for all your amazing qualities! Maybe next week I will have a real plan for our Valentine’s Day festivities but then again let’s be real.. I probably still won’t have anything put together lol.

Vest // Jeans // Basic Tee // Sneakers

Totally feel like a walking Christmas tree in this plaid vest and it couldn’t make me happier! haha. T-minus 6 days until Christmas morning and I think the only main goal on my list this week is to accomplish making some Christmas cookies. Kyle has been working like a mad man lately so all shopping and prepping has been left to me. I don’t mind because I am a total festive nerd at Christmas. But Christmas cookies aren’t my strong suit. I grew up eating this “cookie” that consist of ZERO baking! Which if you haven’t already caught on, I totally suck at baking. Like Easy Bake Ovens don’t even work for me. These cookies are super tasty and remind all the Christmases I had as a child. Super easy, two Ritz crackers filled with peanut butter like a sandwich, than coated in melted white chocolate and sat our to fully cool before enjoying the oh so sweet flavor. I know, easy peasy but for this not so Betty Crocker gal this is a big undertaking. I feel like if I dress in this ever so festive plaid vest it will help me own the part of “Christmas Baker” and I will rock at making these cookies. LOL, who knows but I’ll give it the good ‘ole college try!

If you’re looking for a gift for the super festive person in your life, look no further than this vest. It will have them beaming, PROMISE! And as for me, well I am feeling so much like Santa this week that I thought I would spread the chance for you to win a $1000 ASOS Gift Card Giveaway today. All the details on how to enter are below. Just as easy as my Christmas cookies and you don’t even have to move from your seat!

Gift Wrapping Memories with Red Baron and Coca-Cola

December 18, 2017

*This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #GrabSomeCheer #CollectiveBias *

Happy Almost Holiday Week! Are you still needing to get your wrapping party on before the big morning? Between work, family, parties, and well this lovely little space of mine, I am finding scheduling time to wrap gifts is slime to none. This weekend I put my foot down! With the help of Red Baron and Coca-Cola™ I was able to spend time with the hubs wrapping gifts, watching football, and eating our favorite meal (PIZZA) top off with the ever so amazing Coca-Cola. It’s the meal time like this during the Holidays that leave us with more time to spend quality time with one another. And with all the hustle and bustle we all know that is super important and rare during these last few weeks.

No pizza is complete in our house without our savory Garlic Ranch Dipping Sauce! If you want to try our little southern taste of heaven here is how we whip it up.
*Tip: let is set in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving*

  • 1 Cup real Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Large Garlic Cloves, Crushed (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tsp Tarragon
  • 2 Tsp Dried Dill
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Pepper

I will be totally honest, Kyle and I eat Red Barron pizza at least 3 times a week. We’re Pizza Lovers to the FULLEST! I think our gifts came out eve more festive than usual because we were washing out savory pizza down with a cheerful ice cold Coca-Cola. Soooo PSA to family: If you see any grease stains or sticky residue on your gifts packaging, just know we wrapped it with love and tastyness!

But we do promise to make it up to you when we all go to the movies for extra special bonding time at THE MOVIES. Seriously, there are so many great movies that are released or being released this weekend that I think our families and us will be living at the movie theatre. We might even wear matching festive pjs to the theatre so we won’t get lost in all the madness, haha. Fandango has made it even more affordable to bond with your family at the movies this year over the Holidays. Snag $10 worth of Coca-Cola products at your local SafeWay so you can take advantage of  Fandangdo’s $5 towards a movie ticket for every $10 you spend. Super easy, and will have you being the Holiday Hero in your family! Be sure to take advantage of this amazing offer with Fandango as it ends 12/31/2017.

Holiday Sequin Skirt

December 14, 2017

With all things Holiday happening over these next few weeks, I couldn’t not share the most perfect skirt for all those events! Who’s with me on wanting to hide the “food baby” we all tend to get when indulging in those festive treats? The elastic waist this sequin skirt will let you have a few too many cookies and cocktails without ever letting others know. I have styled it with an oversized sweater, velvet bodysuit, and long sleeve fitted blouse. It’s super easy to change the look of this super festive skirt, so investing in it’s UNDER $50 self is wellllll worth it!

This skirt bring me to our Christmas Eve plans! Yes, I plan to wear this sparkle babe on the day before the Big Man delivers his gifts. Well all we have “planned” as of now is dinner, and it’s at one of my favorites! I leave there every time we go with a total food coma. Whatever we generally have planned after words gets kicked to the curb as we would rather be cuddled up snoring in bed. Looks like I’ll have to set the Keurig to auto to wake us up for Christmas morning, haha. Should I tell you where this magnificent place is, OR should I wait and share it with you when we go next week?! I think I’ll keep you in suspense 🙂

I am trying to find other things that are festive for us to do during the day, so Houston Loves: Send me your fun Christmas Eve activities! Please and Thank You in advance. I am just feeling blah lately. And that could be because I have a sweater weather body and should have a bikini body since we will be on the beach of Miami on December 26! I just don’t have the motivation to be super healthy before we leave. Guess I’ll just my usual self with “Suns Out Buns Out” while we’re there, lol. Don’t worry I’ll share all the hot mess express fun with you on Instastories if you want to see all the ridiculousness.

OOOOH before I forget, I am teamed up with a only a few great bloggers to give away a $200 Nordstrom gift card here! Go enter where you see this skirt so you can shop until your heart is content.

Holiday Party Bar Cart Styling

December 12, 2017

lifestyle blogger, fashion blogger, houston blogger, dog mom, gracefully sassybar cart, holiday bar cart, christmas bar cartblogger style bar cart, styling bar cart, christmas bar cart stylingchristmas sweater wine bottle, bar cart accessories, bar cart decorhomegoods, target, home decor, christmas decorathome, holiday bar cart styling, holiday decor

Mistletoe & Martinis, anyone?! Styling a bar cart is something I have wanted to do for a few years now. Last year my sweet Mother-In-Law gave me this bar cart for Christmas, and FINALLY I have it styled for all things Holiday Party! In our family, Bar Carts aren’t usually functioning pieces of décor. We all end in the kitchen perusing through all the snacks and whip up on our cocktails all while leaving a mess hind. I thought why not show off some wine bottles in cute little sweaters, with adorable cocktail napkins, some mixers, and the MUST HAVES (Gentlemen Jack Daniels & Bailey’s Irish Cream) for any festive cocktail. I try to make it function for our not so conventional family, yet still be a stylish party bar cart.

Most of the décor you see here I snagged from my favorite place to shop all things Home Décor, HOME GOODS. I am not able to link those things for you, but do look to see where your closest store is, because you most definitely need to go do some damage on your wallet at one. You will thank me.. Promise! I have many banner ideas you can get here. And if you’re still looking for the perfect bar cart I have linked a few of my favorites below that are NOT going to break the bank. That’s what took me so long to find mine. finding one that matched our home, and wasn’t ridiculously priced. When I did find mine, my Mother-In-Law said “you better not buy that yourself because that’s your Christmas gift” haha. She is the sweetest and I love love love our Bar Cart!
