Fall Wedding Guest Dress Under $100

Wedding Guest Dress – Under $70

‘Tis the season for Holidays, Parties, Gift Giving, and WEDDDINGS! I am sure your calendar is filling up like crazy for the next month or two. I always pull out my planner when asked in passing if I can make it to a last minute party invitation, because more than likely we’re attending a wedding, family function, or I have something blog related already on the schedule. Wedding season is honestly something fun for us. It’s like a date night with friends celebrating all things love! It also gives me a reason to pull out the red bottoms, and let me just tell you that rarely happens haha.

I found that finding the right wedding guest dress for fall/winter wedding season can be a bit difficult. Most of us have an upscale cocktail dress that we wear for most of our wedding related events, and that is perfect except when those cooler days arrive. Having a not so over the top floor length gown will fit the wedding and the season oh so perfectly! This mauve gown adds a little sass with it’s ruffle detail and middle slit which is something I absolutely have to have in a wedding guest dress. Since it’s one piece that makes up my whole look, I have to have sass somewhere. This color is super transitional for spring, and even summer. I use to steer clear of mauve, but it has been super complimenting lately which must be the one of many things that has been coming with old age (shhhhh I turn 28 this week and I am still not ready for it), and at least it’s a positive one! My BEST advice for getting a wedding guest dress that you can wear to multiple occasions, and seasons is a floor length dress that is neutral in color with an element of sass.

Fall Wedding Guest Dresses all Under $100

And I couldn’t help it, 2 Jumpsuits also Under $100

And as I’m sure we all are, being budget conscious.. don’t spend over $100 for these dresses. Typically they don’t get enough use to constitute spending over that. Now if you just want to go and have a splurge moment then do you babe, this is just something I try to stick to since this is usually my outcome with dresses like this beauty.

Q&A On All Things SHEIN Fashion

November 9, 2017

Q&A On All Things SHEIN Fashion by Houston Fashion Blogger Gracefully Sassy

You asked and now it’s LIVE, all things Shein fashion! After taking the poll a few weeks ago many of you said you have questions or have never heard of an online store I purchase from frequently called Shein. Simply put, Shein is an online store with all things trendy fashion and accessories at a FRACTION of the cost usual retailers sell the same items for. For example: this TopShop dupe I shared here last month. I completely understand your apprehension when purchasing from an online store in general because most of us want to try an item on before we purchase it, and in this case you can’t. But I will break down how to make that idea a foreign thought. Some may be iffy on purchasing from a company based out of China that will be importing your purchase here into the states. I’ll be the first to tell you that Shein’s customer service is nothing less than professional and helpful so no fear is needed! You’ll see more below on quality, fit, price point, and shipping. Again, if I haven’t covered any questions you might still have after reading this SheIn fashion Q&A, then please, please, please reach out to me and I will most definitely give you peace of mind.
*Side note: this blog post is in no way sponsored by Shein, just a helpful blog post all of you that have asked about*

SheIn Fashion – Quality

If you are someone who has already heard about Shein then you likely have had the concern about quality. Shein is like any other online clothing store, they give you full details on the fit, fabric, and model dimensions. ALSO, there are reviews on items from previous buyers. If you’re really on the fence about purchasing something be sure to scroll down and read the reviews. I have used this many times and it has been VERY helpful. And if you have seen a blogger feature an item you’re looking to purchase, don’t hesitate to reach out to her because 9 times out of 10 she will want to give you honest feedback on the item and if she recommends it.

SheIn Fashion – Price Point

Holiday Season is the perfect time to get all of your festive outfits from Shein as they will totally slay when it comes to keeping your wallet in tact. If I am to “fall in love” with an item at a well known department store I generally will click right over to Shein and see how I can save myself over $40 on the same item. I promise, it will look identical to the designer item you have fallen head over heels for. And if you don’t click over to look and see if they have something very similar you will kick yourself when you see your favorite influencer on Instagram strutting around in the same flawless piece at half the cost you paid for it. As a Fashion Blogger, I sink a lot of  $$$ into this sassy place of mine. I have to be a bargain hunter finding those trendy pieces I love under $100 for one stinking item. And I like to pass on the score I found with you lovelies because that’s what friends are for!

SheIn Fashion – Fit

Like I said earlier, Shein offers the model specs and all the information on the type of material and “fit” in their description section. I will say that I do study this area very well when purchasing a piece because this is where I learn the most if something will work for me or not. I have had issues with the one-piece swimsuits as I am petite with a short torso. Other than that, I haven’t had any issues with fit what so ever. Best advice for yourself is know your own measurements and how you would like the item you want to purchase to fit. I am willing to bet these two things will not steer you wrong when looking at the specs of a particular size on an item.

Last but not least, SHIPPING

Yes, Shein is based in China. The standard shipping does have a much longer transit time that other domestic orders you probably have purchased from in the past.

Just to break the shipping process down for you:  (this is VERY generalized so please don’t critisize it)
The item you ordered is packaged up for shipping, it then is booked with a UPS, DHL, ect.
That freight forwarder then books your order with an cargo airline carrier.
You cargo then clears China customs to come to be exported.
Your purchase ships.
It arrives 5-8 days later here in the states (most likely Cincinnati).
It then has to be cleared through US Customs, and picked up by a trucking service to then delivered to your door.

I try to plan when ordering from Shein. Usually I will place items in my cart over a couple of weeks time, and towards the end I make my final selections, and purchase the $12.99 expedited shipping. I have seen a usual transit time of 5-7 business days total. I HIGHLY recommend others doing this. I can totally rationalize that cost to receive my order in a less than a month’s time.

Wooooo this ShieIn fashion blog post is wordy! But I wanted to be sure I explained and answered the questions you all have asked. Again, if you still have questions on Shein fashion please send them over and I will be more than happy to answer them. Now, I get to totally dive into all things Christmas since tomorrow I will be headed to a huge Holiday market we have in Houston every called “The Nutcracker Market”. I’ll be sure to show you all the fun tomorrow on Instastories if you care to know what it’s all about 🙂

From tea time to a full day of to-do’s you will look too lovely for words in this pearl dress. Pearls are HUGE this season. From denim, to blazers, sweaters, and dresses. Designers are covering their pieces with a timeless jewel most of us have always cherished. Personally I love, love, love pearls. I just feel like they can take any look from edgy to feminine with the clasp of a necklace. I had been shopping for a sweet look for the Create & Cultivate Conference I told you about a few weeks ago. I knew the day of the conference that I wanted to be comfortable (no heels) and a little more than just jeans and my favorite blouse. When I saw this pearl dress that’s under $20 bucks, I instantly knew it was the ones. This pearl dress was not too light that I was freezing, yet not a full thick sweater that had me sweating throughout the entire day. You may notice my crazy mess of a top bun, and wellll that wasn’t the plan I had but that was all my hair was willing to do that morning. Mind you, it was like 110% humidity that day so I should have known from the get go it wasn’t going to be a perfect hair day, lol. Welcome to Houston! You wouldn’t tell I felt like I rolled out of bed because all anyone wanted to talk about was the fun pearls on my dress.

I will be sharing another take on a pearl embellished look with you next week. So if you’re like me and loving this pearl trend you will want to check out next week’s blog post! Not to mention, I will be filling you in on all things Shein on Thursday this week. If you didn’t get your questions over to me on Instagram last week please feel free to do so in the comments below. I’ll answer any questions you have from the clothing, to the boutique, policies, and more so don’t be afraid to ask 🙂

A Unicorn of a Different Color & My Favorite Chenille Sweater

SURPRISE! I am now a blonde unicorn. Please, please don’t hate me! This was a tough decision on my part, but I had to make the best decision for my family. Haha I am sure reading that is probably giving you thoughts like “how in the heck does your hair effect your family.” And the answer is simple, time & money.

You may notice now that my hair is blonde and also shorter, and less full and that is because I no longer have my tape-in extensions . The time it would take every 8 weeks maximum to have my extensions taken out, hair bleached, washed/dried, purple hues added in and my extensions moved up was HOURS! This took time away from my husband, family, and friends. I work full time away from this little happy space of mine annnnd my commute is quite long. I spent so much time and investment on my hair that I was beginning to really feel drained by it. I am still my same unicorn hot mess express self, just without purple hair. I will be adding blonde extensions into this goldenness here in the coming weeks. They will be giving me much more length than my previous ones and the same fullness as before, and I will be going with cold fusion extensions this time.  If you’re considering extensions and would like a full blog post on the ones I have tried, care/maintenance of them just leave me a comment below with your questions. I will have my hair stylist answer anything technical as well as give you my honest opinion on them.

Now that I have covered the hair bases, I need to tell you very quickly about the steal this chenille sweater is. Target has this chenille sweater in all the perfect fall colors and this baby is under $25 buckaroos. I purchased a XS, but my advice would be to size up one size for a little bit on an oversized look to just help be a bit trendier. I have been asked about this black distressed denim yesterday when I posted a sneak peak of this chenille sweater look, and you can snag them here. They do run TTS so I wouldn’t worry there, but I will advise there isn’t near as much stretch as the majority of the other jeans I do post. So food for thought is all.

Until next week babes, HAPPY ASTROS DAY ( I just decided it should be, lol) and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Off The Shoulder Bodysuit & Our Halloween Traditions

October 31, 2017

Happy Halloween Y’all! Although today’s off the shoulder bodysuit look isn’t all the Halloween vibes, it might just help you not chow down on so much of your favorite sweet treats so you can rock this knitted off the shoulder bodysuit to the best extent. But there is no judgment which ever road you take because Lord knows I will be eating all of my favorites including the left over candy, haha. Before I go and get into the tasty details let my just blow your mind with this look.

I personally love high waisted bottoms that have stretch because they fit my waist well. I thought with this still being a bodysuit newbie, styling it this way would make the off the shoulder bodysuit and myself happy. Boy did my hips/waist leap for joy! Not only do these shorts have an elastic waist band, but this knitted off the shoulder bodysuit does as well, WIN WIN. I did see these shorts are sold out in all sizes, Other Than large. I have linked the same style in a few colors. I ordered a small in both the shorts and bodysuit and even had a little extra room in my buns and length area should I need it.
( to help with sizing reference: I am 5’2, jeans size 26, bust 33″)

p>

Now for our Halloween traditions
As I am sure you know by now, we only have our sweet fur baby and no actual children of our own. We have always found great joy in sitting out on our front porch handing out “GOOD” candy to all the littles in our neighborhood. Luckily, our neighborhood is filled with lots of kiddos so we are never just sitting twiddling our thumbs. Every year I purchase more candy than the last and I always, always run out. I went a little overboard this year because I am determined not to run out. I am fully aware I may be running to the store halfway through the night in usual Sarah fashion though lol. Our neighbors are as just as into the festivities as we are and with living in a cul-de-sac we have many times had a block party. This year we are keeping the food in the house so all of us can watch the World Serious Game all while enjoying Halloween. I fully decorate the house every year so whether you’re outside with us or inside snacking down on food you feel like you get the full experience.
This years menu includes:

Buffalo Chicken Sliders
Fried Pickles
Chips & Queso (because it’s not a party without that HAHA)

I would love to hear all about the Halloween traditions you have in the comments below! I am always looking for new ways to make ours even more festive.

Have a great Halloween and Be Safe because there are lots of witches out there 😉
