Summer Mules- UNDER $50

May 23, 2017

houston blogger, style blog, fashion blogger, tuesday shoesday, mule sandals, mules, women's mule shoes, gracefully sassy

Happy Tuesday Shoesday! I have been dying to get this post out because I am currently hardcore obsessing over all things mules. Sadly, my wallet kind of hates this new obsession. If you are loving this trend too, but find some of the favorites you keep seeing are out of your budget well this post is for you. All of the mules I have shown above are UNDER $50! These mules aren’t just a bargain, but great quality so don’t feel bad for investing in them. Mules are a classic design trend that never truly fades. I own quite a few of these beauties and there are only a few sizing updates on two of them. The blue bow mules- size down one whole size, due to being wide fit they run large. The mint jelly Jeffrey Campbell mules “MY Favorite”- I normally wear a 6.5, but purchased a 7 in these and they’re the perfect fit, but if you want a little extra room size up a whole size. All others are TTS (true to size). If you’re interested in seeing more of my favorite shoe trends I would love to hear more of what you want to see!

Also, if you missed my blog post last week on all things eyelash extensions you can see it here. I will be sharing videos on Instagram Stories Saturday morning with my latest refill. So be sure to let me know if you have any questions on eyelash extensions that I many not have previously answered. I will be able to ask the lovely Darlene with My Lash Girl to be able to provide you with the most accurate and professional answers for all your questions.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you Thursday!

Eyelash Extensions Review with My Lash Girl

May 19, 2017

Houston blogger, style blog, fashion blogger, beauty blogger, eyelash extensions, my lash girl, gracefully sassy - Eyelash Extensions Review with My Lash Girl by Houston style blogger Gracefully SassyHave you been a lash extension skeptic? I TOTALLY was! And I say was because I am now a lash extension wearing gal. I had built up so many cons in my head in getting eyelash extensions that I couldn’t see past my own ignorance, until I saw the amazing work Darlene with My Lash Girl creates. She is truly sensational at curating the perfect lash formula specifically for your eye structure, style, and look. If you enjoy my look above here is the formula Darlene curated specifically for me: lash size 7, 8, & 10 with curl C and .15 diameter.
Before lash extensions I frequently wore lash strips for blog shoots or events I was attending.
There were two BIG issues that always bothered me:
The glue over many hours would irritate my sensitive eyes.
The weight of the strip began to really weigh on my eyes after only a few hours of wearing them.

When I partnered with My Lash Girl for this blog post I wanted to give you my honest eyelash extensions review with the pros and cons.

PROS

  • You wake up daily looking so put together without an ounce of makeup on. That is a must for these sassy pants as I typically wear little no makeup during the week. I look like I am ready to walk the red carpet without a minute of any makeup routine in the mornings.
  • If you are a lash strip wearing lady and you take the time for eyeliner, and then perfecting the strip application, well with lash extensions you have shave an easy 10 minutes off of your makeup routine. This alone quickly convinced my husband they were worth the investment! I don’t have to apply anything to my eyes other than my brows and the occasional eye shadow.
  • Weightless! Like I said earlier, strips were so heavy on my eyes. I couldn’t tell you why, just that is how I always felt with them. I don’t even notice I have anything on my eyes. It’s so wonderful! Being able to look like a glamazon without the old saying “beauty is pain”.
  • I do all my usual day to day life things such as hair, makeup, airbrush tan, eyebrow dying & waxing, ect. I have had zero issues with anything lessen my beautiful lashes. And let me just be loud and clear, by choosing a true lash expert to apply your lash extensions your natural lashes will not shed ANY MORE than there usual life span. In plain terms: there is no damage or loss of your natural lashes! This was a big concern for me when contemplating getting extensions. I had a full sit down consultation with Darlene prior to ever coming in for my lashes. I asked every questions under the sun and she had all the lash educated answers for all of them.
  • Maintenance is truly a breeze. They simple combing of your lashes in the mornings and evenings is all I have to do. Darlene also sells her special lash cleaning solution she refers to as “lash poo”. Some people like peace of mind with cleaning their lashes at the end of the day, regardless if they had worn makeup or not. And this solution is easy on even the most sensitive of eyes that will leave them clean and fresh.

CONS

  • I am sure you’re thinking there has to be cons to perfectly sounding beauty must have and from my experience I have found VERY few. I wouldn’t even say that these are honest con’s, just simple things you need to be mindful of if you have lash extensions.
  • I seriously love to rub my eyes after a long day, but that is something I am no longer able to do as it will pull all my lovely lashes out. Your eyes become a no touch zone with extensions. No worries, that isn’t anything a small glass of wine in the evening can’t fix!
  • Being mindful of the products I put near or around my eyes can be a tad tricky, but nothing major. From makeup to skin care, things need to be oil free in that region to refrain from destroying the lash adhesive.
  • Once those chiller holiday months roll around you have to remember to not place your face over  a pot of boiling water (the heat from the steam kills the adhesive). Also, the same goes for those patio fire pits. Don’t sit too close because you will singe and melt those lash ends together and not one likes clumpy lashes.

I have currently started a more voluminous look, but without being full wabaam volume. Darlene refers to it as hybrid and it for me is the perfect medium for a classic look, with a dash of sass. I will see about having a full Instragram stories video of my refill next week for you to really see all the in’s and out’s of the process.

I want to first say, Happy Mothers Day Gorgeous! Just one day celebrating your amazing abilities in being a fantastic mother will never be enough. Just know that your loved ones adore you from head to toe in all your motherly efforts! I believe there are so many aspects of motherhood. From a mother who has angels babies or still caring her bundle to full term, to a foster mom who mothers so many children in need of love, or the Aunt who took on extended family’s children to give them the home they deserved. Sunday is YOUR day too, and you should be overly celebrated!

I don’t think I have talked about this too much in the past, but I have been so, so blessed to have two absolutely perfect mothers. One who guides me from the holes in the floor of heaven, and my mom who handles all my day to day crazy on earth. These women have showed me what truly being a mother is all about. I at times feel intimidated to attempt to fill those shoes in my role as “Mom” in my own family. God blessed me through and through with these perfect women to help guide me on my own path of motherhood.

Kyle and I lost our sweet bundle the end of last year. I at many times in my life have lived in the fantasy land of “nothing can go wrong”. And you would think by now I would know better than to have that mindset. But this princess likes to try and live in fairytale land from time to time. I never truly thought miscarriage would be something that I would have to go through. Well, ding ding ding, I was WRONG! I still feel like I earn the title as mom to our angel baby. Through all the excitement, and sorrow I was still a mom. I pray for our child that God continues to protect them and have my mother hold them in all her love while we are still here on earth. Doctors have confirmed that Kyle and I should have no issues conceiving, but after trying again and still no luck a gal kinda gets down in the dumps especially around this time of year. This Mother’s Day I have many emotions because I miss my heavenly mother so, and I am saddened that I can’t make my earthly momma a grandmother yet. I have days where I let the negativity eat me up. Thennnnnn my lovely God wraps his arms around me and says “ I know the plans I have for you” – Jeremiah 29:11″. And with a smile because his is peace covering me, I throw on my sassy pants and simply smile 🙂

Whatever stage you’re at in motherhood I hope you’re celebrated this week like the queen you are! Dance until you fall, laugh until you cry, and completely & totally trust in God’s greater plan for you and your family. His plan is far better than anything you can dream of!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU!

Once Upon A Bride

May 4, 2017

houston blogger, style blog, fashion blogger, blogger, gracefully sassy, bride to be, rehearsal dinner, anniversary look, houston photographer

With my hubby and I’s wedding anniversary coming up on Monday I have been having all the bridal feels. It really came to mind that why can’t I dress the bridal part (the scaled down version) while celebrating our anniversary? The answer for me is, “Rock those bridal vibes until your heart is content”. I think doing this for your anniversary helps bring back memories of what you’re celebrating with one another. This year we will be cheering the Texas Rangers on in Dallas while celebrating our 2nd year of marriage together. We will also be doing a dinner, still unsure of where, but this is when my white number will be making it’s debut. These picks are also great for Brides-to-be. From Bridal Showers, to Rehearsal Dinners any of these UNDER $100 pieces will be the perfect bridal look. Annnnnd this dress can also be used when celebrating your future wedding anniversary. Killing multiple birds with one laced stone!

If you want to see back down memory lane of the past years with Kyle and I as a couple, I am sharing a photo from our Engagements, Wedding, Honeymoon, and 1 year wedding anniversary below 🙂

I’m Back! After a much-needed break from social media and the blog, I am back at it. Do you find yourself burning the candle at both ends sometimes? That happened to me and I didn’t even realize I was doing it. Heck, I actually thought I was doing a decent job at juggling it all. HAHAHA who am I kidding! I was definitely running on E and starting to become delirious. That’s when I knew it was time to throw on the sweat pants and Netflix binge will order take out for a few days straught. If you find yourself feeling this way PLEASE love yourself enough to put down the phone, find true time for YOU to breathe and do not once feel guilty about it! Once you do return to the hustle and bustle of life you will be better than when you left to vacation from it.

This flash of colorful delight helped me pull out of my social media free coma. Doesn’t it just make you want to grab your floppy brim hat and sip a mojito on the beach? I had to pretend I was on beach while sipping mine, but hey it worked haha! This weekend I will be shooting soooo many summer and beach looks for y’all. Which means it’s time to get excited to spend some of that hard earned dinero. The Off the shoulder style is honestly one of my absolute favorites! You will be seeing more of it coming to the blog soon, but if you have been following along for a while this isn’t new news to you. I like that it’s a classy, yet sassy trend that works for beach wear to dinner dates. Items that are versatile is what I like to invest in because I get endless looks out of those pieces. I have linked below 9 other favorites of mine, along with this ruby number. And like I said, there is more where this came from coming soon!
