Romper Dreams Under $40

Keeping it short and bold in my current favorite that is under $40. I have totally been guilty of wearing this romper twice in one week because it’s down right COMFORTABLE and let’s not forget, too cute! I originally snagged this ASOS romper for the 4th, but quickly it has become my weekend day look go to.

The cinched elastic waist on this babe helps to define my curves in just the right way without any added discomfort. And with the current heat wave we have going on here in Houston anything light weight and breathable comes before style… buuuut yep you guess it, this romper does that all with style! Who doesn’t love a ruffles one shoulder?! I am telling you, there isn’t one thing I don’t love about this romper. If you’re slightly iffy on sizing, I am wearing a size us 2 and I didn’t have a need for any alterations. The material is giving so that may help you when deciding as well.

Now I am off to confirm everything with Kyle’s surgeon for this arm surgery Monday. Next Tuesday’s blog post will fill you in on all these details. Life threw us a curve ball, but it’s nothing we can’t handle.

Be Your Own Kind Of Unicorn

What I truly love about being a unicorn is that you do NOT have to have it all together. Let’s face it… most of the time I am the hot mess express running on dry shampoo, pizza… and probably some tequila! HAHA, but for reals though.

To be completely honest.. I was a blonde for MANY, MANY years, but I was always dreaming about the day I would dye my hair purple. Don’t get me wrong I loved being a blonde (and secret: I am still a blonde under all this purple) but I wanted the royalness of my spirited inner princess to show on the outside. I don’t think I have ever grown out of living life in a twirling tea cup wearing the world’s largest tutu adorned with a marvelous tiara. Lol, I just died laughing typing that. Sometimes fairytale daydreams are my vacation in the middle of the work week.

Wellllll in the beginning of this purple adventure I didn’t exactly think about how this lovely color in my hair would affect my fashion choices as a newbie fashion blogger. With no cares, I went for it! I don’t regret it for one stinking second. Quickly I decided that I am not changing my fashion choices to better suit my hair. I wear the things I love and my hair is just that, HAIR! I choose the same colors, styles, and patterns as I would have as a blonde and I can honestly say I have truly grown into my meant to be unicorn self.

You know you’re doing something right when your doctor (male, straight, doesn’t care a lick about fashion) walks into the room to discuss you possibly being anemic and immediately wants the details on your purple hair. Yeah, men definitely pay attention to the color of your hair ladies. He wanted to know how I get it like this, how long does it take/last, what are other people’s reactions when they see me in public. He was truly interested and shocked when I gave him all the details and made sure to tell me that he thinks it looks great and I wear it well! In that moment, it was like God said silently “I made you the perfect little unicorn you’re and people love you for it.”

I say allllllll of this unicorn mumbo jumbo to you because we’re all some sort of unicorn and we should own that part of ourselves. No one person is the same, although I swear there are other blogger babes I am total spirit animals with haha! Don’t be afraid to Go For It. You will be shocked how whatever it is you have dreamed of doing will fit you like a glove. You can change people’s perspectives with going for your own unicorn self! I promise, I am shocked everyday by how much people are awed by my hair and as they say “how you wear it so well!” and they never thought fashion colored hair could be worn so well.

I hope that I am able to help give you that extra nudge to be your true self without worry. It may even take a little while to fall into where it feels like home, but I promise lovely… fall graciously and beautifully into it.

Must Know Details in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Early Access

I am sure you’re probably reading this going, “Really Sarah?! Another major sale this week?” But this one is the sale you will cry yourself to sleep over if you don’t take advantage of it while it’s here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale debuts items that haven’t been released until the sale starts and the best part is, THEY’RE ON SALE when they hit the store! These are staples for fall, winter, back to school deals, beauty finds, shoe heaven, and even loading up his side of the closet so he isn’t wearing the same jeans three times a week.

Ladies, you know what I mean when I say that most of our other halves typically don’t shop and then complain when they’re wearing the same pair of jeans over and over again. This sale makes it so easy peasy for me to prepare my closet for fall, as well as snagging him quality items and remarkable prices that he desperately needs! This sale can be a bit intimidating if you don’t know all the in’s and out’s of it. So I thought…. Let me help y’all out and make things easier for your sale shopping experience for a few tidbits I have learned.

Important Things to Know about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The early access that starts tomorrow and runs for a week until July 20 is STRICTLY for Nordstrom card holders. Sadly, this means you have to possess a Nordstrom credit or debit card. The Nordstrom Rewards card isn’t enough to gain you access to the early shopping festivities. BUT don’t worry, I don’t have a card and I will still be shopping the sale when it goes LIVE to the PUBLIC on July 21, and goes through August 6.
Just because and item is sold out at some point during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale doesn’t mean it won’t be restocked. 95% of the time Nordstrom restocks the item so that many people have the opportunity to score they’re wanted deal! BUT if you love something, GO FOR IT! All of these items will go back to full price for the rest of the year once this sale is over August 6.
Stock up on those sneakers for back to school shopping during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale before having to deal with the rush come the end of August annnnnnd still end up having to pay full price. Not to mention, if you’re a planner like myself.. I am constantly thinking about gifts for Christmas. This anniversary sale makes my Christmas shopping much sweeter because I can snag the perfect gifts early and on sale!

The Perfect Beach Day + Must Have Summer Sequins Floppy Hat

Now that summer is in full force my mind can’t seem to get out of beach day dreams. Sadly, Galveston doesn’t have white sands and crystal blue water, but it is still relaxing and one of my favorite things to do in the summer. First things first on a beach day are: sunscreen, Sequin Beach Hat, pop-up tent, comfortable tan worthy chair, and a cooler filled with all my favorites!

When you’re as white as piece of paper with very little tan insight, sunscreen is your best friend in the summer. My favorite right now is this Copportone sunscreen. I promise it won’t leave you sticky, it will protect you from those harmful rays, and it’s not pore clogging whatsoever. Sunscreen Winning!! Now what beach day is complete without that summer umbrella drink in hand?! There isn’t one! Wellllll for me there isn’t one anyways. My current favorite refreshing beach beverage is what I call the “Blueberry Day Dream”. I’ll leave you with the recipe below.

“Blueberry Day Dream”
2 shots – Stolli Blueberry Vodka
10 oz (1 small bottle) – Club Soda
2 lime wedges- squeezed
Shake well, and serve in your ice filled tumbler for refreshing beach bubbly!

Ladies, you totally know what I mean when I say that those cooler bags your handsome hunkster generally carries on your beach or pool days aren’t typically what we would refer to as cute! BUT this adorable Francesca’s “Chill Out” insulated tote will totally change your mind about that. Oh yeah, this baby comes to every water related event I go to now! And no cute beach day look is complete without a Summer Sequins Floppy Hat! I am obsessed with all things sequin and when Yanita with Summer Sequins said she could customize my hat with my favorite saying, I think I fell out of my office chair! I definitely Sip & Sass my way through every day with a smile. Her designs are flawless, price point perfection, and totally customizable! Palm Print Obsession – UNDER $30

Not only are these pants a show stopper for their beautiful palm print, but they’re like heaven to wear. They stretch for days, but not like saggy pants over 8 hours of wear.
