Hazel & Olive Boutique- Stop In The Name Of Camo

The Pantone color of the year is green, so my take on this is camo everything! Lol, okay I am totally kidding, but I do love a neutral print and olive is kind of my color jam right now. Top that off with all of that being on an oversized sweater… “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!”. I found the perfect little boutique with the cutest on trend designs known as Hazel & Olive Boutique. I snagged this casual chic sweater from them, and there is even some floral, bell sleeved gorgeousness coming to this blog very soon, all courtesy of Hazel & Olive! I am also obsessing over this floral romper, this perfect off the shoulder dress, and these lux velvet joggers. I am having all the heart eyes for this boutique and I know you will too. A little Gracefully Sassy Life Note: I haven’t been able to get my Tuesday’s blog post out in the past two weeks. Life has really taken its toll on my family, and physically I have just been SO drained. BUT, that is changing and I have been shooting, and picking up great items all for Spring and Summer that you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I promise not to disappoint you anymore, and I truly love you to the moon and back for all your support day in and day out. God is Good, and blessing us to meet our full potential as a family for his glory.

XOXO : The Day of Love Summed Up

If you have been watching my Instastories you will have seen me talking about this sentimental post. Before I go and get all mushy on you, let me fill you in on this adorable tee from Heritage Tradition. This graphic tee company is about something near and dear to my heart, Kiddos! Now on to the mushy gushy!

Our Valentine’s Day of love had to be pushed back one day. My husband ended up working until midnight on the actual day, but what he did early that morning touched my heart in such a way even with the words I am typing they can’t fully describe the happiness I felt. Kyle and I haven’t had the perfect marriage. We have struggled like many others before us. Something we both knew we wanted for our marriage when we got married was to never take the easy way out. We want nothing more than a marriage that will last in love and not accept defeat. Because of God’s grace we have made a full hearted, honest commitment to God to be the husband and wife he has always had us planned to be. Destruction is all around us and evil is easy to get sucked in to, but keeping your eyes on God will turn those negative things away. I promised God if he would truly heal our marriage that we would be a testament of his amazing love, and that he is NEVER FAILING! This is my start to keeping that promise. Okay, now onto how this has everything to do with the special Valentine’s gift Kyle created for me.

In Houston we have a Christian radio station (89.3 KSBJ) I enjoy listening to. Little tid bit, I grew up listening to this in the car with my parents, but up until last summer it had been years since I turned on KSBJ. I am constantly uplifted in all the hustle and bustle of Houston traffic by the sweet songs they play. KSBJ has a segment in the morning called “You’re Awesome!”. They play this segment when people write/call in to them wanting to love on family or friends who are just that, AWESOME! Not to my knowledge, Kyle had written into Rachelle and Carder early that week asking them to call me and tell me all about his love for me as his wife, and that he thinks I am just plain awesome! So…. Early Feb. 14 I received an awesome call from KSBJ radio surprising me with my sweet husbands plead of love for me. Not only did they relay this message, but lovely Rachelle prayed with me and I had such peace, happiness, and tears of love flow over me. They did joke with me and asked if Kyle was off the hook for getting flowers because of the call, I said “Oh you bet he is off the hook!”.

This was one of the kindest things Kyle has ever done for me. He wanted to show me Godly love and he did just that! Gods knows exactly what kind of love we need to be shown as husband and wife, and he does and amazing job at nudging us in the direction we need to go. Thanks for letting my gush over my amazing husband, and my unbelievable God!

Shop SFT: King Cake is a Girl’s Best Friend

My love of King Cake is far and wide, and well it has been for many years thanks to my family. My favorite comes from Meches Donut King bakery (yes, this cake is untraditional and made with donut bread). Some of you may or may not know this, but my family is from South Louisiana. My maiden name happens to be Guidry, and I say “GEAUX TIGERS” proudly, while sipping on my milk punch yelling “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler”! This Oh So Cute tee from Shop SFT is perfect for Mardi Gras parties, or just to remind yourself that you can eat as much King Cake as your little heart desires. You will always have time after Fat Tuesday to work it off on the stair master… well, that’s my plan anyway.

Sadly, I won’t be seeing my family for Mardi Gras this year. Fat Tuesday falls on February 28 and doesn’t line up with my work schedule well. So with our smiles turned upside down we will be having some bead throwing fun at home this year. Quick story on a past favorite Mardi Gras memory of mine: When my husband and I were only engaged, he had never been to my family’s hometown Mardi Gras, but knew how much going meant to me. This particular year Mardi Gras weekend fell on Valentine’s Day weekend. So, you can guess it right, he planned with my uncle a surprise Valentine’s trip to see my family for Mardi Gras! This little creole heart was so happy I cried tears of joy for a good hour. I was able to see my family and enjoy Mardi Gras with them, all while having my soon to be hubby by my side. Yep, I knew he was a for sure keeper after that lol.

Like I said above, I am obsessed with this boutique’s perfect tees! I wished I would have known about them year prior because having some of these shirts would have been a MUST. Kate Spade Galentines Day Party

Happy Valentine’s Day! On this day of love it doesn’t have to be about having a date, you can love your gal pals or love yourself. Kate Spade embodies such wonderful things women should pack in their unicorn clutch.

Christine with C Wright Photography and I completely adore Kate Spade! We had the amazing pleasure of hosting our first Galentines Day Party for all of our blogger and creative friends. From Champagne to the ever so gorgeous tassel balloons from Big Ass Balloons, to the perfect braid bar by Styled By KelseyV. We talked, sipped, and shopped the night away! Valentine’s Day can seem doom and gloom if you look at it from the traditional aspects. BUT in this day and age “Who run the world? GIRLS!” we can make this Galentines day into a day of self love that has endless amounts of shoes and margaritas. Or better yet, grab sushi with a friend and share a bottle, or two of vino! I am the girl who enjoys getting my best friend and shopping till my heart is content, so this Galentines Day Party was just the ticket for even this married gal. And even if you don’t have a special someone to spoil you on this day of love, go get yourself those flowers for you to enjoy! You’re worth it so spoil yourself.

My husband and I are taking actual Valentine’s Day low key with the gym, chicken wings, and Red Box movies. We will indulge in our Valentine’s Day festivities this coming weekend sometime. It will be going to see a movie in our sweat pants, then going out for sushi to laugh until we cry!

Whether you are partaking in Galentine’s or Valentine’s festivities on February 14 this year, having a festive outfit is the best part, right?! Well, that is where I focus my time and attention. Valentine’s doesn’t have to be doom and gloom if you’re in a relationship or going on a date, you can always meet your girlfriends for a wine date. You can still get dressed up oh so festively to ensure you keep your head up so your crown doesn’t fall off! I like to think of Valentine’s Day as a day of love. You can love your husband, wife, mother, dog, or even yourself! Take yourself to dinner and enjoy that martini you haven’t been letting yourself have due to the calorie count. Eat all the chocolate dessert you want! Or even better, if all your friends are busy on the big day make yourself a delicious home cooked meal. Then snuggle up on the couch watch Sex and the City with a full glass of wine and your fur baby by your side. Some may say, that is the best date there is!

I have always enjoyed the sassy reds and pinks in fashion this time of year, which made me totally go for a soft pink skirt and a vibrant red off the shoulder bell sleeve top. If you haven’t heard, the off the shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere and well worth your investment. Not to mention bell sleeves are the perfect add of fun on any shirt or dress. This OTS is a perfect sassy additional to a great pair of midrise skinny jeans and heels, so very versatile. I also have had so many compliments on this skirt and both items are made of super good quality and you can look V-Day festive with this look for under $34! Now that is that is the best gift right there for Valentine’s. Spoil yourself without breaking the bank!

To be honest, I have NO idea what Kyle and I are doing for Valentine’s. I think we decided on going to the movies in sweatpants to eat all the junk food we can while enjoying some sort of comedy flick. We generally wait for a few week after the holiday to go an enjoy a nice meal without having to have a set menu. We are definitely foodies and like to choose anything, and not be boxed in to only picking from a few items. Since it is National Pizza Day today it will be a “We’re getting pizza after this” gym night!
